SERVING OUR MILITARY
by Sharion Hreha, Program Director

Retired Navy man, Richard has served his county well. His pride in his years of taking care of himself and his family has kept him from asking for help up to now.

However at this point he finds himself without an avenue to turn to except for outside help. He was schedule to have surgery at Camp Pendleton Hospital , but did not have transportation, nor can he drive because of being on medications.

In desperation and with little time to spare he called the number of an Ad in Village News for Health Care Resources. Judy listened to his immediate need and began a process that gave several resources for him. The Fallbrook Hospital Auxiliary, People to People and several private drivers were called for help.

Judy called the Base Hospital to let them know Richard could keep his appointment and would be arriving in time for pre-op.

Richard, alone and sick, was very grateful to know that the community of Fallbrook not only continues to honor military families but cared enough to arrange for his needs beyond his ability.
